How did GRGD 2024 impact your mission and what it meant for your organization?

Participating in Grand Rapids Giving Day last year was a game changer for our mission. We raised over $6,000, had the highest number of individual donors among all participating nonprofits, and even won the Entrepreneur Pitch. The exposure and support we received helped us expand our impact and connect with others who believe in our work. We’re excited to join again this year and keep building momentum for change in our community.

Dream with us! If funds were unlimited what would you do?

If funding were limitless, we would bring our boldest dreams to life by fully launching the EmpowerMinds Community Center a hub for mental wellness, workforce development, and inclusive innovation. We’d expand nationally, offering remote work training, youth tech labs, and business incubation in every underserved community. We’d hire dedicated mental health staff, outreach teams, and tech educators to support people who’ve been overlooked for too long. Most importantly, we’d eliminate the barriers that prevent people with mental health challenges from accessing sustainable employment and purpose-driven lives.

How will your organization use the funds raised on grand rapids giving day?

For Grand Rapids Giving Day 2025, we aim to raise $10,000 to support the launch and operations of the EmpowerMinds Community Center, a safe and inclusive space dedicated to mental wellness, job readiness, and digital access.$4,000 will go toward hiring a part-time program coordinator to manage daily activities and support participants.$3,000 will fund technology upgrades and internet services for our 12 public computer stations.$2,000 will support operational costs such as utilities, outreach, and supplies.$1,000 will help launch a 6-week mentorship and resume-building program for youth and adults with mental health challenges.Serve 300+ individuals annually through job readiness training, tech support, and mental wellness workshopsProvide access to remote work resources, helping reduce unemployment among those with barriers to traditional employmentOffer a space for collaboration, healing, and community-buildingThese funds will help us establish a solid foundation, increase community engagement, and demonstrate program outcomes, positioning us for future grants, sponsorships, and long-term impact. By investing in us, donors are helping to build a lasting resource that uplifts the entire community.
