How did GRGD 2024 impact your mission and what it meant for your organization?

New Destiny Pathways was deeply impacted by the opportunity to be among other women-led nonprofits. This experience allowed us to build meaningful connections and share our mission with others who are also doing impactful work in our community. One of the most significant outcomes was our ability to support a young woman who lacked the resources to move into our program. Because of this opportunity, we were able to provide her with the necessary support and supplies to begin her journey with us.Additionally, New Destiny Pathways was able to bless the young women in our program with beautiful Christmas gifts and a holiday dinner, making the season brighter and more memorable for them.

Dream with us! If funds were unlimited what would you do?

We plan to build on the property we currently own, creating a step-down housing program for the young women transitioning out of our existing training home. This next phase of housing will allow them to apply the life skills they have developed in a more independent setting, while still receiving the support they need to continue progressing toward self-sufficiency.

How will your organization use the funds raised on grand rapids giving day?

We are seeking to raise $50,000 to support our building fund for the construction of a four-unit, low-income apartment complex. This project is a critical next step in expanding our transitional housing program for young women. The funding will allow us to:Begin construction on the new apartment complex.Provide a monthly stipend to a live-in housing manager who will offer supervision, guidance, and support to the residents.Establish a sustainable model for the program, as rental income from the low-income units will help offset ongoing operational costs. This initiative will not only provide stable, affordable housing but also promote long-term independence and success for the young women we serve.

What is your favorite quote about generosity?

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."
